A WATERFALL COMMUNITY

 

In Glen Cannon, property owners enjoy the best of both worlds: the solitude of living in a forest environment, and the camaraderie of great neighbors.

 

The Glen Cannon Property Owners Association gathers for an annual meeting each fall. In addition, its Social Committee organizes several events for the community each year, from gatherings at local restaurants and breweries to potluck picnics at Camp Creek Falls. The GCPOA Board also hosts occasional drop-ins for newcomers to the community.

 

One of the most enjoyable ways to meet neighbors is along the trails of the Glen Cannon Greenway. The Greenway is the pride of the community, with pathways that meander through mature forests along streams that lead to magnificent waterfalls.

 

Several times a year neighborhood volunteers hold work days to clear the trails and streams of fallen limbs and debris, usually sharing a meal or some refreshments afterward. This is another great way Glen Cannon residents can get to know each other.

Volunteerism is an important aspect of life in Glen Cannon. The work of the community is carried out by residents who contribute their time and talents to serve on the Glen Cannon Board of Directors and committees such as Architectural and Environmental, Private Roads, Communications, Social Activities, and Trails and Greenways.
