Glen Cannon is known for its waterfalls, beautiful vistas, and large, wooded lots, with custom site-built homes set in the tranquility of a deciduous forest in one of the most biodiverse regions of the world. Many homes have views of the mountains and the lights of nearby Brevard. Springs, streams and waterfalls flow throughout the community, and the neighborhood shares more than 14 acres of green space with hiking trails, many of them meandering beside Camp Creek and its waterfalls. Glen Cannon residents find an ideal blend of quiet, natural beauty coupled with modern lifestyle conveniences. Learn more about community life here.

The community was established in 1965 as a premier golf course community, and though the golf course is no longer operating, it remains a highly desirable place to call home. Currently, Glen Cannon includes about 222 homes on 1- to 2-acre lots, plus 51 condominiums and around 21 privately owned lots that could be developed in the future. Nearly 80 percent of homeowners live here year-round, while others regard it as a second home.

Glen Cannon is in the unincorporated community of Pisgah Forest, which is part of Transylvania County, home to more than 250 waterfalls. Nearby are Dupont State Forest, Gorges State Park, Pisgah National Forest, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, offering miles of trails and backroads for cycling, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and driving through some of the most scenic and biologically diverse regions of the United States. The French Broad River and the Davidson River host some of the best fly fishing in the world.

The nearby city of Brevard offers convenient access to amenities such as grocery stores, schools, restaurants, shops, health care, and entertainment. It is home to the weekly Transylvania County Farmers Market as well as festivals throughout the year including the White Squirrel Festival, the Mountain Song Festival and a family-friendly Halloweenfest. It is also home to the Brevard Music Center, with a summer concert series featuring internationally renowned performers in both classical and popular genres.

About Our Entrance Sign:  A “Glen Cannon” neighborhood entrance sign originally stood where the “Le Parc” sign is located now. It will be replaced when the planned widening of Wilson Road is completed and a new entrance to Glen Cannon Drive is finished. That is anticipated within the next few years.
